Apple Chips

I love apple season. I have to admit I go a little crazy and over-buy apples this time of the year.  These apple chips are so simple, so easy, and a great way to use up all those extra apples. Sweeter varieties like Honeycrisp, Fuji, Gala, and Jazz apples work well for this snack.

Apple Chips

2 apples, sliced crosswise, about 1/8 – inch thick (remove seeds)

Preheat oven to 225 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or foil. Arrange apple slices on the baking sheets and bake for 1 hour. Turn apple slices over and bake for about 1 more hour (or until no longer wet and are starting to get golden). Keep an eye on them. Times will vary based on numerous factors (thickness of slices, temperature of oven, juiciness of apple, etc…). Some slices may bake faster than others, so go ahead and pull those out of the oven. When the (remaining) apple chips are ready, remove them from the oven and let cool completely.
